I remember as it was yesterday when I first met Tony in September 1999 as my LSE lecturer. He was a great teacher - insightful, funny, friendly and made us feel involved and motivated... I will miss Tony.

In ricordo di Tony e dei tanti anni passati insieme a Pistoia, un abbraccio alla sua famiglia .

Tony was a dedicated supervisor, very generous, humble person, who had a brilliant mind and still a lot to contribute to Brazilian socio-environmental politics. His legacy shall endure in every former PhD student and the many peers whose work has crossed paths with him. A special hug and my deepest condolences to Tony’s children Joseph Hall & Julie Chajes, grandson Yishai, and his sister Sue Hall.
